Our Partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation

ALDI makes it easy, fun and affordable to give back to causes that matter most to you. Join ALDI in our 5th year in supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to help find a cure for childhood cancer. Whether you purchase an ALSF-branded bag of lemons, donate directly online or host your own lemonade stand with lemon-themed ALDI Finds, you can feel good knowing your actions make a big difference.

In 2019, ALDI and ALSF came together to help put an end to childhood cancer as part of our goal to make a positive impact on kids’ health and wellness. This year, ALDI will donate $1 million to ALSF, totaling over $5 million since the beginning of our partnership and supporting our long-term goal to raise $10 million for ALSF by 2027.

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer, wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. So, she set up a simple lemonade stand, selling lemonade for 50 cents. When she passed away at the age of eight, she had reached her goal to raise $1 million. Today, ALSF is one of the leading funders of childhood cancer research in the U.S. Through our five-year partnership, ALDI has honored Alex’s mission by donating $1 million annually to the cause.

How to Support ALSF with ALDI

Buy a Bag of Lemons
As Alex taught us, a little change can make a big difference. For the first time ever, ALDI will donate 50 cents to ALSF for each bag of ALSF-branded lemons purchased throughout the month of June, up to $1 million. Visit your local ALDI starting June 1 to help support ALSF and its mission to find a cure for childhood cancer.

Host a Lemonade Stand
Calling all ALDI fans big and small! This June, with our lemon-themed ALDI Finds, you can find everything you need to host a lemonade stand to support ALSF and help find a cure for childhood cancer. Starting June 14, shop your local ALDI for lemon-themed ALDI Finds.

For tips and tricks on how to host a successful ALSF fundraiser, visit the ALSF website and register your lemonade stand to join the national movement to fight childhood cancer.

Buy a SuperSibs Reusable Bag
ALDI stores will once again offer reusable bags featuring artwork from ALSF heroes and their ‘SuperSibs,’ siblings of children with cancer.

Learn About ALSF Heroes

Ailani Myers
In March 2019, Ailani’s parents noticed a red rash on their daughter’s belly as well as her scalp. After getting bloodwork done, Ailani’s parents were told their sweet daughter had leukemia. Ailani immediately began the standard treatment protocol for leukemia. Then doctors discovered she had a rare mutation, and she transferred hospitals to receive a bone marrow transplant from her dad. She then underwent several relapses that no treatment could prevent. Today, she has begun a new clinical trial at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia with hopes that she will find her cure. Ailani’s family is comforted knowing that foundations like ALSF are working hard to make more clinical trials available.

Beaudin Larrabee
Beaudin was 6 years old fighting what seemed like a bad cold. It wasn’t until nearly a year later that Beaudin was officially diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The next 20 months revolved around Beaudin’s treatment, but in 2020, a routine lumbar puncture revealed abnormal white blood cells in his spinal fluid. Beaudin’s mom came across a promising clinical trial in Philadelphia – far from their Colorado home. With the help of the ALSF’s Travel For Care program, the cost of airfare for Beaudin’s family was covered and he could enroll in the trial. Since then, Beaudin is more than two years cancer-free and living his best life!
