Being a smarter grocer means more than just providing high-quality products at low prices; it means helping to build strong communities and contributing to a better world.
We believe support should be based on the needs of each individual community, which can range from product and monetary donations to staff volunteering to collaborations with nonprofit organizations. We're dedicated to funding and sponsoring local and regional initiatives that support kids' health and well-being, food insecurity and diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
All of our stores are partnered with a local Feeding America member food bank to make it easier for them to donate overstock, short-dated items or products with lightly damaged packaging to address food insecurity in our communities. This partnership has allowed us to positively impact our local communities through food donations while also supporting our goals to limit environmental impact by reducing waste.
We’re proud to support the awesome kids in our local communities. Through ALDI Smart Kids, we partner with nonprofit organizations that make a positive impact on our kids' health and well-being, food insecurity and diversity, equity and inclusion programs. This may include funding and/or ALDI gift cards to nonprofits, K-12 schools, fire, police and local churches.
So whether your mission is to support kids through education, arts, nutrition, physical activity or any other program that inspires them to excel and be healthy, we encourage you to visit ALDISmartKids.com to learn more about the program and to apply for support for your school or nonprofit organization.
Our Community Is Better Together
ALDI partners with Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) to encourage healthy, active lifestyles for students, teachers and family members in our communities across the U.S.
Funding from ALDI supports schools to implement health and wellness practices that help students eat better and be physically active. Initiatives are wide-ranging across elementary, middle and high schools. Programs and projects may include refurbishing outdoor play spaces, piloting aeroponic school gardens, implementing farm-to-school programs, hosting fitness and nutrition classes, purchasing physical activity equipment and implementing before-and after- school fitness programs.
During the last week of April, ALDI sponsors Every Kid Healthy™ Week with AFHK. This event shines a spotlight on the great efforts schools are making to improve the health and wellness of their students, have a little fun and link nutrition, physical activity and learning – because healthy kids are better prepared to learn!
