ALDI Community Gift Card Eligibility and Guidelines

Eligibility

Prior to submitting an application, please ensure your organization meets the following requirements:

  • Organizations must be a US based 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, public K-12 school, or Native American Tribe/Nation
  • Organizations must be able to provide their IRS Form W-9, most recent IRS Form 990 Schedule A and 501(c)(3) certification or equivalent documentation for public entities and schools.
  • All organizations applying for a gift card must be verified through YourCause prior to applying. We verify all 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations through YourCause to confirm they meet all IRS requirements to receive a gift card. If your organization is not listed or you’re unable to be verified through YourCause, contact YourCause prior to reaching out to ALDI.
  • Organizations applying for support must have a primary focus or specific program focused on addressing one of the program’s core focuses, Children’s Health & Wellness or Food Insecurity.
  • Organizations must maintain sufficient records of their financial and business activities, which comply with U.S. laws and standards, and they must disclose records from the previous reporting year to ALDI upon request.
  • Programs should demonstrate affordability and sustainability, a lasting impact on the community and a significant and measurable outcome.
  • Organizations receiving contributions must be in compliance with the requirements of the Equal Opportunities Act, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and other federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Areas of Funding

ALDI supports two main areas for gift card funding. Please review the below categories to ensure your organization falls within our funding areas.

  • Children’s Health & Wellness: Organizations and causes that support and invest towards improving the physical, social, and emotional wellbeing of youth, 0-18, through supplemental in or out of school programs, annual programs or one-off events.
  • Food Insecurity: Organizations committed to increasing access to nutritious foods and reducing food insecurity.

Every year, ALDI Community Programs are evaluated to ensure the program is making the largest impacts in our core focus areas, and this sometimes means organizations that previously qualified are no longer eligible. While we wish we could support all organizations, the gift card program will continue to prioritize our core focus areas.

Guidelines

  • Applications are accepted into the program between March 1st – December 15th each year.
  • Requests for gift card support must be submitted through the ALDI Community Gift Card Program.
  • Gift Cards range from a minimum of $100 to a maximum of $500.
  • Funding requests should be submitted at least eight weeks prior to the date the requested donation is needed. Applications are reviewed as they are received, and every effort is made to review and respond to all requests in a timely manner.
  • Organizations will be able to provide supplemental materials related to their application.
  • Organizations can only receive funding once per year.
  • Organizations that have been denied funding previously may reapply after six months.
