ALDI Update (April 23, 2020)

ALDI COVID-19 Health and Safety Update

The health and well-being of our employees and customers remains our primary focus.  We closely monitor safety recommendations from state and local health officials as well as the CDC, and have implemented many steps to further enhance safety in our facilities.   Most recently, the CDC has recommended wearing face coverings in public settings, including grocery stores, to help slow the spread of the virus and minimize transmission of the virus from individuals that lack symptoms. 

Taking this into consideration, beginning Friday, April 24th, we will begin to require all store and warehouse employees to wear masks or face coverings during their shifts.  We will be asking the same from any of our partners that work in or enter our facilities.

  • A face covering can be a mask that ALDI provides, however employees are welcome to bring a face covering from home as long as it meets CDC guidelines.

Our hope is that this added measure will further promote health and safety across all ALDI stores and warehouses. We also encourage customers to wear masks while shopping with us, and having our own team members set the example will help make this additional health precaution more effective as we all do our part to help curb the spread of this virus.

While these masks provide some protection, it is important that everyone continues to follow the CDC guidelines and practice good hygiene, including frequent and thorough handwashing. Always wash your hands after removing your face covering and remember to continue to practice social distancing.

We will continue to implement measures to help protect the health and safety of our communities. In addition to this update today on face coverings, we have installed signage and floor decals to support social distancing. We’ve installed temporary protective barriers at checkout and have amended our front end checkout policy to ensure carts are cleaned and sanitized between all customers. We are limiting the number of people inside our stores, have implemented one-way aisles, and are conducting health screenings for all employees.
