COVID-19 Customer Letter

ALDI Update (October 19, 2020)

Our Continued Commitment to Your Safety & Wellbeing

Dear Loyal Customers,

It’s always exciting when we transform our stores for a new season, and there’s something particularly welcoming about the flavors and products that take center stage this time of year. Regardless of the season, the safety of you and our employees is always our highest priority.

Earlier this year, we made a number of changes in our stores to reduce exposure to COVID-19. Here is a reminder of what shoppers can expect for the foreseeable future:

  • Customers and employees are required to wear properly fitting face coverings;
  • Signage throughout our stores and protective barriers at checkout to maintain social distancing;
  • Intensified cleanings throughout our stores, with added focus on high-touch areas and carts;
  • Self-service cart wipe stations where shoppers can sanitize carts prior to shopping;
  • Hand sanitizing stations available for shoppers and employees;
  • Dedicated time Tuesday and Thursday mornings for vulnerable shoppers.

We have also expanded contactless shopping options, offering grocery delivery in more than 10,000 ZIP codes across the country and curbside grocery pickup at nearly 700 of our stores. Visit our store locator or shop.aldi.us to see if these services are available near you.

We know access to affordable groceries is essential, which is why we are proud to offer the lowest possible price every time you shop for groceries. Our team is committed to keeping our shelves stocked and providing a safe and comfortable shopping experience.

Whether you shop in our stores, have your groceries delivered or swing by for curbside pickup, thank you for trusting ALDI with your grocery needs. We look forward to serving you again soon. Stay safe and be well.

Be well,
Jason Hart
CEO, ALDI U.S.

COVID-19 FAQs

Q: Do I have to wear a face mask when I shop at ALDI?
A: Following the latest CDC Guidelines we will no longer mandate the use of face coverings in our stores for fully vaccinated customers and employees, unless required by state or local jurisdictions.  There may also be local conditions, regulatory changes or laws that affect our guidance.

We require that unvaccinated customers and employees continue all appropriate safety precautions, including wearing masks and physically distancing, to protect themselves and others.

Any customer that is unable to shop at ALDI stores can visit shop.aldi.us for delivery and even Curbside Grocery Pickup, which is now available in many locations.

Q: What is ALDI doing in their stores to ensure my safety during COVID-19?
A: The health and well-being of our employees and customers remains our primary focus. We’re continuing to follow guidance from the CDC, and some of the safety measures we have in place include: intensified cleaning throughout our stores, protective barriers at checkout, and dedicated hours for vulnerable shoppers.

Q: Have the ALDI store hours changed?
A: To continue serving our communities and adhere to local occupancy limits, some ALDI stores have adjusted their opening hours of operation to 8:30 a.m. daily. We will continue to reserve the first hour of business on Tuesdays and Thursdays for vulnerable shoppers. Please use the store finder to find information about a specific store.

Q: Can I still buy groceries from ALDI if I don’t want to go into the store?
A: We encourage any customer that is unable to shop at ALDI stores to visit shop.aldi.us for delivery and even Curbside Grocery Pickup, which is now available in many locations.

Q: Will the prices of groceries go up because of COVID-19?
A: Access to affordable groceries is more important now than ever before. Our promise to you is that ALDI will continue to offer the lowest possible price every time you shop for groceries.

Q: Can I still get all of my groceries at ALDI?
A: Our teams are working diligently to keep our shelves stocked and we are continuing to react to the Covid-19 situation. However, due to increased demand, some inventory may be temporary unavailable. Please check your local store for details.
