Our Partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation

ALDI makes it easy, fun and affordable to give back to causes that matter most to you. Join ALDI in its 6th year supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to fight childhood cancer. Whether you host your own lemonade stand with lemon-themed ALDI Finds or donate directly online, you can feel good knowing your actions make a big difference.

In 2019, ALDI and ALSF came together to help put an end to childhood cancer as part of our commitment to help build stronger, healthier communities. For the sixth year in a row, ALDI will donate $1 million to ALSF, nearing our long-term goal to raise $10 million for ALSF by 2027.

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer, wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. So, she set up a simple lemonade stand, selling lemonade for 50 cents. When she passed away at the age of eight, she had reached her goal to raise $1 million. Today, ALSF is one of the leading funders of childhood cancer research in the U.S. Through our five-year partnership, ALDI has honored Alex’s mission by donating $1 million annually to the cause.

Olivia Steffensmeier

Olivia loves school and staying active playing with her sisters. The day before her sixth birthday, Olivia was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma after her family discovered a lump in the back of her mouth while on a beach vacation. Over the next two years, Olivia underwent extensive chemotherapy and radiation before finally ringing the end of treatment bell in January 2023. She has been cancer free ever since. Before her diagnosis, Olivia hosted lemonade stands for ALSF at an ALDI store in West Des Moines, Iowa, to help raise money for pediatric cancer. Today, Olivia’s family continues their fight against childhood cancer with extra motivation from Olivia and her story.

Olivia Reardon

Olivia is a kind hearted 10 year old who’s always willing to help out. When Olivia’s parents noticed swelling behind her right eye, it turned out she had a tumor the size of a golf ball. What followed was years of surgery, chemotherapy and proton radiation to treat her rhabdomyosarcoma. Today, Olivia has reached remission, and her optimistic spirit is inspired by Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. She volunteers at local restaurants to help raise awareness and funds to help other kids who are also facing cancer.
